About Soley Therapeutics

Soley Therapeutics was founded in 2020 by UCSF scientists Dr. Yerem Yeghiazarians and Dr. Kurosh Ameri, after more than a decade of multidisciplinary research on commonality of diseases of how cells sense, anticipate and respond to stress for determining their fate, forming the scientific foundation of Soley’s platform.

Yerem, a cardiologist and stem cell pioneer, and Kurosh, a cancer biologist who defined the field of tumor anoxia, combined their deep scientific backgrounds to ask a new kind of question:

What if cells could tell us the medicines they need?

The result is Soley’s platform built on decades of foundational research, 130+ publications, and a proprietary understanding of how cellular stress sensing reveals therapeutic potential. Today, this platform is generating novel compounds, uncovering new disease mechanisms, and building a pipeline of first-in-class medicines.

Leadership Team

Soley is led by a cross-disciplinary team with deep expertise in biology, stem cells, translational science, computational science, engineering, AI/ML, and drug development with a proven track record in advancing novel therapeutics into and through the clinic.

Leaders with experience in automation, AI/ML, and corporate strategy ensure Soley has the infrastructure and capability to scale discovery into real-world medicines. Soley is supported by top investors and a board of directors and scientific advisors that include world-class leaders in drug development, AI, and company building.

From a Bold Question to a New Drug Discovery World

What if cells could tell us about the medicines they need? That question, posed by a cardiologist and a cancer biologist, sparked a decade-long journey across disciplines, institutions, and scientific boundaries. The answer became Soley: a biology-first platform that translates how a cell senses, interprets, and adapts to stress into new medicines that other approaches miss.
