Berthil Clasen serves as Chief Business Officer of Soley Therapeutics, where he leads business development and corporate strategy. He brings more than a decade of experience at Eli Lilly, where he most recently served as Vice President of Business Development, Global Head of AI and Emerging Therapeutic Areas. During his tenure at Lilly, Dr. Clasen structured and closed more than 30 transactions — encompassing M&As that established Infectious Disease as a new Lilly therapeutic area, licensing, collaborations, divestitures, equity investments — representing over $7.5 billion in upfront payments and $20 billion in total deal value across oncology, cardiometabolic disease, neuroscience, immunology, and AI-enabled platforms. Prior to BD, he worked in Corporate/R&D Strategy at Lilly, with earlier roles at Novo Nordisk and in biotech.
Dr. Clasen holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Aarhus University conducted in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic and an MBA from Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
